Call of Duty 2025 Will Be a Sequel to Advanced Warfare

WhatIfGaming is reporting that Sledgehammer Games next Call of Duty will be a direct sequel to 2014's "Call of Duty Advanced Warfare" set for release in 2025. After split reception to their last game, "Call of Duty Vanguard", it seems Sledgehammer is pivoting back to the future-based Call of Duty era.

Infinity Ward will be releasing "Call of Duty Modern Warfare II" this fall, with it expected to be the first two-year cycle Call of Duty. This leaves the next Treyarch project set for a 2024 release, and the rumored "Advanced Warfare" sequel for 2025. With the Microsoft acquisition of Activison-Blizzard nearing completion, many questions still remain for the future of the Call of Duty franchise.
