Ubisoft Forward Recap: Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, Star Wars Outlaws, Assassin's Creed Mirage

Today Ubisoft held Ubisoft Forward and gave us a look at some of their upcoming titles from their studios all over the world. So, let's get into the highlights.

Star Wars Outlaws

Announced yesterday at the Xbox Games Showcase, Massive Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games bring us an exciting and thrilling Star Wars adventure set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Players will take control of Kay Vess as she takes on one last big heist with her companions Nix and ND-5.

We got a great look at gameplay, from the gunplay and stealth, the thrilling chase sequence, and the finale of escaping into space and taking part in space combat, Star Wars Outlaws is looking like one of the most impressive current-gen experiences currently in development. We also got a look at the game's dialogue options, which seem like they may give the player chances to avoid combat or even make more credits. Combat also seems to be very unique with different blaster types and ways to attack enemies.

Star Wars Outlaws is set to for launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2024.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Ubisoft opened its show with a great look at Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft have spent many years trying to capture the spirit of Pandora. James Cameron, the creator and director of Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water, made an appearance and guaranteed that Ubisoft has done an amazing job bringing the Avatar world to the video game genre.

The story will see players take control of a N'avi that was betrayed by the RDA and has been frozen for 15 years. You will have to reconnect with Pandora and take revenge against the RDA. It seems the game is taking lots of inspiration from Far Cry, and in my opinion that seems like a perfect fit for a game set in Pandora.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is set for release on December 7, 2023 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Assassin's Creed Mirage

Ubisoft gave us a great gameplay demonstration of Assassin's Creed Mirage. They mentioned that the game is an homage to the original Assassin's Creed games, with a focus on assassinating and a much smaller-scale map that is denser.

The gameplay demonstration gave us a look at Basim and his gameplay. One of my favorite scenes was watching him mark 3 targets and being able to assassinate them one after the other. The game seems to be definitely going back to the older style of games.

Basim will go on the journey of becoming a master assassin when the game launches on October 12 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Smaller Highlights

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Prince of Persia is back. In the showcase, the team behind the game said they wanted to go back to the original 2D games and create an all-new adventure in this style. Players will play as Sargon as he searches for the missing Prince. Also, time abilities will be returning to the franchise. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown launches on January 18, 2024 for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
