Sony took the stage at CES 2023 with a couple of new PlayStation related announcements. The first showing wasn't actually a hardware announcement, but a first look at the "Gran Turismo" movie based on the iconic racing game. Starring David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, and Archie Madekwe, the film is based on the true story of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional racecar driver.

Sony brought with them a brand-new controller announcement. Project Leonardo will be a controller built from the ground up for accessibility. With the already releases Xbox Adaptive Controller, it is great to see accessibility becoming a key part of the gaming industry.

Sony also gave us more information about PSVR2. There will be over 30 launch titles set for release, alongside that, "Gran Turismo 7" will be getting an update for PSVR2 support at launch. Sony also confirmed that "Beat Saber" will also be coming to PSVR2 sometime after launch.

Finally, Sony confirmed that more than 30 million PS5 units have been sold worldwide. Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive, also confirmed that purchasing a PS5 will become much easier within the year.
