
Starfield Launch Date Announced with Starfield Direct and Xbox Showcase
Starfield has received a release date. Announced in a special trailer today, Starfield will launch on September 6th, 2023. Todd Howard confirmed the news along with the announcement of a Starfield Direct, set for June 11. This direct will probably be very similar to the one Howard gave in 2015 for Fallout 4.

This also comes alongside news from Xbox that the Direct will be preceded by its annual Xbox Games Showcase, being the first major show announced for this summer's E3 season.
Starfield will be the first new IP by Bethesda Game Studios in over 20 years, and their first single-player RPG since 2015's Fallout 4.
Cities Skyline 2 Announced
A sequel to the highly successful city builder Cities Skyline has been announced. Not much information was given, but the game will simply be titled Cities Skyline 2 and release later this year for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The game will also launch into Xbox Game Pass on day one.
Video Game Movie News: Detective Pikachu 2 and Dead by Daylight
Detective Pikachu 2 seems to be moving ahead, with Portlandia creator Jonathan Krisel now being attached to direct the sequel to 2019's Detective Pikachu. At this point in time, it is unclear if Ryan Reynolds will be returning to voice the titular character.
In other adaptation news, Behaviour Interactive has partnered with Blumhouse, one of the biggest names in horror movies today, to adapt their hit video game Dead by Daylight for the big screen. The search is underway for a director and writer, and studio heads Jason Blum and James Wan said they want to bring justice to the game franchise.
PlayStation 5 System Update Brings Discord and VRR 1440p Support
In a new update released today, PlayStation 5 users will get access to Discord voice channels directly from their consoles. This update is similar to the one Xbox users received a couple of months ago.
The update has also brought VRR support for 1440p displays, the ability to manually upload captures to the mobile app, and also a new way to bring PS4 saves over to the PS5 versions of certain games.
