Xbox Developer_Direct Recap; Redfall Release Date; Hi-Fi Rush Out Now; Looks at Other Xbox Titles

Today, Microsoft held its first Developer_Direct. We had updates on the previously announced games and even a brand-new reveal from Tango Gameworks.

The show opened up with a new-look at "Minecraft Legends" and its PvP mode. The game will support online cross-play with other platforms. "Minecraft Legends" will feature all-new mobs and ways to build in the Minecraft universe. The game will launch on April 18, 2023.

The second deep-dive was on "Forza Motorsport". The title will feature over 500 cars at launch, including 100 new vehicles to the franchise. We learned about the new physics engine, the new details about how paint reacts, ray-tracing, and the immersive soundscape built from the ground up. The game will also feature 20 locations, including 5 retuning Forza Motorsport classics. 4k at 60 fps will also be the target for the game. "Forza Motorsport" will launch sometime in 2023.

The next title was a brand-new game from Tango Gameworks. "Hi-Fi Rush" is a brand new rhythm-action game from the horror-based studio. It seems like the title will take inspiration from "Jet Set Radio" and "Sunset Overdrive" with a musical twist. Chai, the main character, will team up with his robot cat and new partners to help defeat the bosses of a giant tech company. Personally, I think the game looks like a breath of fresh air and looks like it will be a fun time. "Hi-Fi Rush" is set for launch... right now on Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Next, Zenimax Online Studios gave us a look at the next expansion for ESO, "The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom". The expansion will give us a new class, the Arcanist, and the ability to explore a new region of Tamriel. There will also be a new timed-trial that will give player's the ability to play all past-released expansions and DLC. "The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom" will release on June 23, 2023.

The final game shown off today was Arkane's "Redfall". Giving player's the ability to team up with friends online, the title will feature the biggest world in Arkane's development history. We got a look at new vampires you will fight, locations you will visit, and the missions you'll take on. Arkane guaranteed the studio loved making the game and will have lots of iconic Arkane storytelling. "Redfall" will release on May 2nd, 2023.
